Product Description

Did you know that amputees wear socks? The Liner-Liner prosthetic sock is designed to relieve skin irritations and improve comfort for amputees whose prosthetic device has a liner. No one likes a blister or a shoe or brace that slips! The ultra-thin material minimizes compromise to the prosthetic device’s liner suction grip on the skin. Liner-Liner is made with moisture-wicking fibers for a cool and comfortable fit – yes, prosthetics get hot and sweaty! We also use Ionic+TM Mineral Antimicrobial yarns that help prevent odor. The sock’s stretchiness allows it to conform to the wearer’s skin without gathering or bunching, and it stays in place all day – even when walking 10,000 steps in a day! The Liner-Liner is manufactured in KCK by Knit-Rite, which was founded in 1923 when WWI Veteran Billy Isle and his wife Anna began making prosthetic socks on their front porch for WWI veteran amputees. The Liner-Liner is an innovative, technical cool product worn world wide by millions of people.

Why does product deserve title of CTMIK?

Well, first of all, the Liner-Liner is made with moisture-wicking fibers that keep the amputee’s limb cool. What could be cooler than that?! Liner-Liner improves the quality of life for millions of amputees every day, worldwide by providing exceptional comfort and support. In addition, the technology in the Ionic+ fibers uses natural antimicrobial science to fight microbes, naturally self-cleaning the fabric which assists in preventing odor within the sock and reduces contact dermatitis issues. Now, that’s cool! While the sock is cylindrical, it is produced on a flatbed knitting machine. The needles on a flatbed knitting machine are aligned in a straight row. This alignment allows us to maximize stretch where needed, preventing overstretch. And the flat lay design is easier to launder and lay flat in a drawer. The multidirectional stretch provide improved fit and comfort, too. It is made in KCK, at a company started over 100 years ago.
